DC Energy’s strong commitment to health, safety, and environment
is evidenced in everything from the added safety features on our
products to the level of safety training and education given to our
employees.
HSE Program
- DC Energy is a holder of a certificate of recognition since 1996
- Strong management commitment to health, safety & environment
- Full time management and staff responsible for HSE in our company
- Extensive emergency response plan developed in accordance with Alberta Infrastructure
- Members of the Western Canadian Spill Service co-operative with the in-house ability to respond to any potential spill quickly using experienced personnel and company-owned equipment
- Regularly scheduled equipment inspection and maintenance program helps to reduce equipment-related incidents
- Employee health and hygiene control program includes physical demand analysis, ergonomic need analysis, and critical task analysis
- Cause and trend incident analysis ensures any incidents are examined and understood so as to prevent them from re-occurring
- Personal protective equipment education and monitoring program in place

Training
- Pre-employment requirements include driver’s road test, and successful completion of a medical and physical capabilities test
- Field employee training includes H2S Alive, confined space entry, St. John’s Ambulance standard first aid, CPR, WHMIS, transportation of dangerous goods, and a respiratory protective equipment fit test
- Employee orientation includes a review of frac and drilling fluid MSDS sheets, the Respiratory Protective equipment code of practice, a respiratory and general fitness test, safety/compliance bulletins, relevant WCB & OH&S regulations, company safety policies, and PITS petroleum safety training
- All operators undergo a quarterly driver’s abstract check and driving records are maintained for a minimum 3 years
- Site-specific client orientations ensure that DC Energy employees are aware of the relevant HSE considerations for every job
- DC Energy continually upgrades its ability to provide comprehensive and relevant training to staff and contractors
Performance
- Successful participant in the Alberta Workplace Health and Safety’s “Partnerships” Audit program
- Better-than-industry performance and comprehensive claims management program have been acknowledged by
WCB

Dispatch Service Centre

Located in Calgary, Alberta DC Energy’s
Dispatch Service Centre allows the company to effectively coordinate people and equipment
on a company-wide, province-wide basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Experienced operations staff anticipates and deals with project
variables before they occur by performing hazard and risk assessments,
and dealing with fatigue management. The Dispatch Service Centre
enhances DC Energy’s level of efficiency allowing you to get the job done well
and on time.

With five main offices and 12 satellite offices, DC Energy is well positioned to serve its customers in any oil and gas producing area of the province quickly.
